64 GB Sandisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0

This is the benchmark test on 64 GB Sandisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0
The biggest drawback is that the  metallic body heats up really fast when used.
If you’re sensitive to heat, use a folded tissue to plug it out after safely removed it from the computer.

Logitech K480-At A Glance

bluetooth-multi-device-keyboard-k480 (1)

Okay, I’ll write a short review on Logitech K480, or Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 (quite a long name for a Bluetooth Keyboard, isn’t it?). Well, what’s nice with this keyboard is that you get a portable keyboard (minus the keypad) that can be used with your computer/laptop, iOS and Android  devices. You can see in the picture above that there’s a long groove on top of the keyboard for placing your smartphone/iPad/tablet.

Then, there’s a dial button on top left just under the groove. This dial is for choosing which gadget you want to connect  with the keyboard. Overall, it is a good piece of hardware. Last, you can see the first setup of this keyboard here.

Acer Z500

leave a comment »

Okay, I’ve decided to review my new phone, Acer Liquid Z500. I bought it on May 1, 2015, so it’s not new anymore.
Acer decided to release the 2 GB / 16 GB with Mediatek 6582 for Indonesia market, and I bought this phone because of its 1.599 million price tag. Yeah, I am a sucker when it comes to cheap gadgets.

Unfortuntely, the cheap price bear some drawbacks:
1. The battery drains quickly on stock ROM (partial blame on battery capacity of 2000 mAh).
2. The cell will heat up quickly on heavy load due to its slim body design.
3. Acer bloatwares (it is a common thing).
4. Back case with flip cover…

Luckily, I was able to install Material ROM on this smartphone (void my warranty, though) and minimalize the first three drawbacks by underclock the CPU clock from 1.3 GHz to 747 MHz.

To be honest, this phone is not for those who likes to switch phone every 3-6 months. I doubt that this smartphone will be able to last 1-2 years of normal usage. For normal daily usage, it’ll suffice. If you are a heavy user of SNS, be prepare to charge your Z500 frequently.

Inet Rants

leave a comment »

Inet in Jakarta is expensive. Currently I spend around Rp. 352k/month for mobile broadband inet with bandwidth of 40-50 GB.
I want to opt using mobile broadband and SSH in order getting unlimited inet with a cheaper price, but it can’t be used for a long time.

Oh, if you are wondering why I don’t use ISP services that promote fiber optic broadband connection, all of them are not available in the area that I lived. So, at the moment I can opt for using Tri (during midnight), BOLT!, smartfren, or Indosat.
I don’t use Indosat because of their notorious data scheme. Tri is quite affordable, but the speed is unbearable during workdays…. Smartfren’s data scheme: 9 and 12 GB for 150k is not enough for a month’s usage…

Oh, well…. I guess I’ll just focusing in getting a bigger income, then.

GalaxyTab 2 and Slimkat 8.0

leave a comment »

Yeaaah! Now,  I am the proud owner of a GalaxyTab 2 that runs on Slimkat 8.0 (Android Kitkat 4.4.4). I know that this is a custom ROM and I have broke the warranty, but who cares.  My warranty already expired,  so no loss at all.
The tab itself is revived after I install the custom Kitkat. Long gone all the bloatwares that hinder my tab’s potentials. Well, it seems that I don’t have to buy a new smartphone due to outdated OS. 😀
Anyway, I use the Heimdall suite to flash CWM 6.0.2.3 then I install Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 based on Android 4.2.2. Then,  I learnt the Slimkat existence. Took some effort to install it,  but I made it.

My Birthday

leave a comment »

Okay, today is my birthday. It feels like any other days,  IMHO. The difference is only… IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY! THE DAY YOUR MOTHER GAVE BIRTH TO YOUR EXISTENCE TO THE WORLD. Instead of hanging out and spend time with your friends to celebrate, it’s better to spend some time with your mother and father. I know that this is a  bit cliché, but it’s still a good act to do on your birthday, rite?

Jakarta As Usual

leave a comment »

Okay,  I’ll officially announced that Jakarta is back as usual… especially it’s traffic jam. Man, the streets are packed with all sorts of  vehicles that made the roads so congested. So, I guess this will be the right time to practice Zen meditation when you’re stuck in traffic. Or just pay attention to your smartphone screens, reading articles or gossiping with friends on private messaging apps. I’ll put faith that few people really done some work tasks when they’re stuck in traffic.

Aside of that,  I’m sleepy right now because I drank Nü Milk Tea yesterday.  That drink is too sweet and it made me stayed up quite long before I’ve finally got some sleep.

Anyway,  it’s good that Jakarta is crowded again.  (^o^)
